Different direction, different rules
Belongings moving from the UK to Poland enter the EU customs territory. Any residence-transfer relief is assessed under EU and national conditions. A UK ToR decision concerns entry into the UK and does not replace EU import-relief assessment. It is not a standalone document for a return removal.
What to gather before transport
Prepare residence-transfer evidence, ownership and use information and an inventory. Separate personal belongings from new purchases and goods for sale. Identify a vehicle and specially regulated items individually. An agent should assess the circumstances before selecting a relief basis.
Where formalities are completed
Agree the first EU entry and intended clearance location. If belongings will travel under transit to Poland, plan both starting and ending that movement. A French crossing introduces route-specific formalities. Clearport can assess requirements with partners; neither automatic relief nor one universal procedure is assumed.
Before you commission the work
- Identify the new place of residence.
- Collect evidence and a current inventory.
- Separate belongings from commercial goods.
- Agree entry, transit and clearance locations.
What to watch out for
Recent purchases or another person’s commercial goods may require different treatment. Do not describe the whole load as personal belongings without checking facts.
