Cookie policy

Which cookies and similar technologies the Clearport Ltd website uses and how you can manage them.

Last updated: 16 October 2026

1.What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Your browser's local storage (localStorage) works in a similar way. They let a website remember your settings or the information you enter.

We follow the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR: without your consent we only use what is strictly necessary for the website to work. On your first visit we show a banner where you choose “Accept all”, “Essential only” or “Let me choose” to select the categories yourself: Google Maps and Analytics.

2.What we use

NameProviderPurposeDuration
clearport-consent (local storage)ClearportEssential – remembers your choice in the cookie banner12 months
clearport-inquiry-draft (local storage)ClearportEssential – saves a draft of the enquiry form so it is not lost if you refresh the pageUntil the form is submitted or deleted
cp-vid (local storage)ClearportWith consent (Analytics) – a random browser identifier used to recognise return visitsUntil consent is withdrawn or site data is deleted
cp-sid (session storage)ClearportWith consent (Analytics) – groups page views into a single visit30 minutes of inactivity or until the tab is closed
Google Maps cookiesGoogleWith consent – displays a map showing our office locationAs set by Google

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not track you across other companies' websites.

3.Analytics

If you consent to the “Analytics” category, we record on our own server which pages you view, for how long and how far you scroll, which buttons and links you click, what type of device and browser you use, how you arrived at the website (e.g. from Google) and your approximate location (country and city derived from your IP address – we do not store the IP address itself).

In the enquiry form we record which fields have been filled in and at which step. The content of the fields only reaches us when you click “Send enquiry”. We do not record the text you type or your mouse movements.

We do this ourselves – without Google Analytics or any other third-party tools. The data is used to improve the website and to respond better to your enquiry. We keep it for as long as it is useful for these purposes, or until you ask us to delete it. Nothing is collected without your consent.

4.Google Maps

The map on the home page, the contact page and in the footer is provided by Google Maps. We only load it after you consent – in the banner (“Accept all”) or by clicking “Show map”. Google may then set its own cookies and receives your IP address. How Google processes data is described in Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

5.How to manage cookies

You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” button at the bottom of the page.

You can also delete cookies and site data in your browser settings or block third-party cookies. The website will still work, but the map will not be displayed, the form draft will not be saved and your visit will not be included in the statistics.
